CEDAR PARK, Texas - After a penalty-filled first period and sixty minutes of back-and-forth scoring, Andrew Bodnarchuk ultimately ended the night with the overtime-winner to lift the Texas Stars to a 5-4 win over the San Diego Gulls on Friday at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.

San Diego started fast by opening up a 2-0 lead in the first 11 minutes of the game. Jason Dickinson on the rebound, and Curtis McKenzie on a loose puck in the crease, each scored in the final six minutes of the first pull the game back to even.
Mitch Hults deflected home a power play with 6:28 remaining in the second to make it 3-2, San Diego, but Sheldon Dries came right back for the Stars with a wrist shot goal on the rush three minutes later.
Mike McKenna earned his fourth win of the season stopping 16 of 20 shots. Kevin Boyle suffered the loss stopping 27 of 32.
Texas finished 0-for-5 on the power play while San Diego went 1-for-5 and scored a power-play goal in their seventh straight game to set a new team record.
