The Texas Stars open the 2024-25 campaign with a two-game series against the Henderson Silver Knights at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park on Friday, October 11th and Saturday, October 12th - both 7pm puck drops.

This is the first meeting between the two clubs in franchise history. The Henderson Silver Knights were bought and moved by the Vegas Golden Knights in 2021. Prior to that they were known as the San Antonio Rampage.

Last season, the Texas Stars finished 4th in the Central Division, earning their 10th trip to the Calder Cup Playoffs. They finished 33-33-4-2 in the regular season and swept the Manitoba Moose in the first round best-of-three series. The Stars eventually fell 3-2 in the Central Division Semifinals to the Milwaukee Admirals.

In 2023-24, the Henderson Silver Knights finished the regular season in 8th place of the Pacific Division with a record of 28-36-3-5. They missed the Calder Cup Playoffs for the second straight season.

Texas was swamped with talent in 2023-24. Mavrik Bourque was named the 2023-24 American Hockey League MVP as well as the winner of the Sollenberger Trophy, awarded to the player who scores the most points in the regular season. Logan Stankoven was named American Hockey League Rookie of the Year for 2023-24 after he scored 57 points in 47 games. Henderson's leading scorer, Grigori Denisenko, logged 56 points in 65 games, good for 24th in the league.

The Texas Stars fell in the Central Division Semifinals to the Milwaukee Admirals to end their 2024 Calder Cup Playoffs run. The Admirals and Stars have faced off in back-to-back playoffs with the Admirals coming out on top both times.

The Stars triumphed over the Admirals in Games 1 & 2 with a 6-3 and 4-1 win. The Stars of the Stars found their stride in the first two games. Curtis McKenzie logged three points (1G, 2A) while Mavrik Bourque tossed three assists and added an empty net goal in Game 1. The Stars continued to pummel the Admirals in Game 2. Goaltender Remi Poirier stopped 32 of 33 shots while Alex Petrovic, Matej Blumel, Justin Hryckowian and Kyle McDonald found the back of the net.

The Stars had the Admirals on the brink of elimination, leading the series 2-0 when the two teams traveled to Milwaukee for the last three games. The Admirals strung together a comeback and won the series 3-2 with a Game 5 win at home.
