Nov 30, 2015Stars Win Three of Four Road Games Out West

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars took three of four road games out in California last week before returning home for a Wednesday matchup at Cedar Park Center to kick off December.

December 2 vs. Rockford IceHogs, 7:30 p.m. CST:
The Stars and IceHogs square off for the third time this season on Wednesday at Cedar Park Center. Texas is 2-0-0-0 this season against Rockford after winning a pair of road games, outscoring the IceHogs 12-4 overall. Rockford is currently led by Ville Pokka with 12 points (3-9=12) this season. Devin Shore and Derek Hulak each have four points against Rockford this season.
December 6 at Milwaukee Admirals, 3 p.m. CST:
The Stars return to Milwaukee on Sunday, where they lost their only meeting this season against the Admirals in a 4-3 shootout final back on Oct. 27. Viktor Arvidsson is the Admirals’ leading scorer with 17 points this season (7-10=17). Milwaukee’s Kevin Fiala is the leading scorer in the season series with three points, all assists.

November 24 at Bakersfield Condors, 3-1 Win:
Devin Shore scored his team-leading 12th goal of the year and Jack Campbell turned aside 30 shots as the Texas Stars opened up their four-game road trip with a 3-1 win over the Bakersfield Condors on Tuesday night at Rabobank Arena. It was the Stars third straight win over Bakersfield and after struggling to start the season, Texas tallied a power play goal for the fifth straight game.
November 25 at San Diego Gulls, 5-3 Win:
Brendan Ranford tallied a three-point night and Devin Shore extended his goal-scoring streak to five games as the Texas Stars shot down the San Diego Gulls on Wednesday night in a 5-3 win at Valley View Casino Center in front of 6,406 in attendance. It was the second straight win for the Stars on their four-game road trip to the West Coast. Ranford scored a goal and added two assists. Shore finished with a goal and a helper.
November 28 at San Jose Barracuda, 5-4 Loss:
Devin Shore scored a pair of goals to extend his goal-scoring streak to six games to set a new franchise record, but the San Jose Barracuda struck with 48 seconds left in the game to prevail over the Texas Stars in a 5-4 final on Saturday afternoon at SAP Center. It was the Stars' first loss on their four-game trip to the West Coast. Along with his record-setting tally, Shore also regained the overall lead in the AHL with his 15th goal of the season. Nickolay Goldobin scored twice for the Barracuda in the win.
November 29 at San Jose Barracuda, 3-2 Win:
The Texas Stars scored a pair of second period goals 15 seconds apart, and John Muse stopped 33 shots in net to hold the lead, for a 3-2 win on Sunday over the San Jose Barracuda at SAP Center to close out a four-game road trip. Devin Shore’s franchise record goal-scoring streak came to a halt at six games, but the rookie forward added an assist to extend his point streak to a team-high seven games this season. Radek Faksa and Brendan Ranford scored back-to-back goals in the second to open up a 3-1 lead for the Stars. Muse earned his fifth win of the season in net.

Devin Shore is currently on a seven-game point streak with 12 points over that span (7-5=12). The rookie forward is currently leading the league in goals (15) and tied for second in points (23). Head coach Derek Laxdal will coach the 900th game of his career on Sunday at Milwaukee. Travis Morin tallied the 250th assist of his AHL career and Greg Rallo appeared in his 550th career AHL game on Sunday at San Jose.
