Oct 13, 2014CEDAR PARK, Texas – After picking up a 4-2 win over the Iowa Wild and raising their 2014 Calder Cup Championship banner to the rafters at Cedar Park Center on opening night this past Saturday, the Texas Stars will face their first road test of the season as part of a two-game schedule this week. The Stars are also at Cedar Park Center on Saturday to face the Utica Comets.

October 17 at Oklahoma City:
The Stars square off against the Oklahoma City Barons in their first road test of the season on Friday. Oklahoma City is coming off a 3-2 overtime loss at the San Antonio Rampage on Saturday. Last season, the Stars held an 8-3-1-0 record against the Barons, outscoring Oklahoma City 42-36 in the season series. Anton Lander is the Barons’ leading returning leading scorer this year after tallying 52 points (18 goals, 34 assists) in 46 games.
October 18 vs. Utica Comets:
The Stars return home on Saturday for the first of four meetings this year against Utica. Last season the Stars won both of their meetings against the Comets, 5-3 and 2-1. The Comets split a pair of road games at Toronto over the weekend to start their season. Cal O’Reilly is the Comets’ returning leading scorer after posting 45 points (seven goals, 38 assists) in 52 games.

October 11 vs. Iowa Wild, 4-2 Win:
A three-goal second period for the Texas Stars turned a one-goal deficit into a 4-2 win on Saturday in front of a sold out crowd of 6,863. Justin Dowling scored the 50th goal of his pro career and rookies Julius Honka and John Klingberg each added their first career tallies. Maxime Fortunus and Travis Morin each added a pair of assists and Jussi Rynnas earned the win in his first appearance for Texas, stopping 20 shots.
