CEDAR PARK, Texas - In a game much tighter than the score showed, Brandon Pirri's two goals were the difference as the Texas Stars fell to the Chicago Wolves by a 4-1 final on Saturday night in front of 6,513 in attendance at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park.
Pirri struck moments after Texas (29-21-5-3) opened the scoring and again late in the second to give the Wolves (31-18-6-2) the offense they needed. Max French scored the lone Texas goal in his return to the lineup after a two-month absence.

Midway through the first, both teams traded goals less than a minute apart. Max French tallied his fourth of the season on an odd-man rush for the Stars before Brandon Pirri responded for Chicago in the slot moments later.
Pirri struck again with 2:31 remaining in the second for a power-play goal in the right circle and his 23rd of the season to make it 2-1, Wolves.
Both teams battled back and forth throughout the third before Wolves buried two empty-net goals when Texas made its last push with the extra attacker on the ice.
Kasimir Kaskisuo earned the win stopping 24 shots in net for the Wolves. Landon Bow suffered the loss stopping 17 of 19 in net.
Texas was 0-for-1 on the power play. Chicago went 1-for-4.
