CEDAR PARK, Texas - Landon Bow made 35 saves to push the game to overtime and Sheldon Dries provided the final heroics to lift the Texas Stars to a 3-2 overtime win on Friday night over the Bakersfield Condors in front of 5,296 fans in attendance.
Dries made a spin move through the right circle then buried his own rebound with a minute remaining in overtime for his seventh goal of the season and his third in the last two games. The goal improved the Stars (15-9-0-1) to 5-0 this season in overtime decisions.
Jason Dickinson and Denis Gurianov also scored for the Stars, who have won nine of their last 12 contests and three of their last four after regulation.
Texas hosts the Ontario Reign Saturday at 7 p.m. CST to continue their homestand.
The Condors (9-10-3-0) got on the board early in the first period on a goal from Brad Malone, but at 8:24, Brent Regner's point shot deflected into the air and glanced off Dickinson's shoulder into the net for his team-leading 11th of the season.
Texas found themselves in penalty trouble through the first half of the game, but killed off five different man-advantage chances for the Condors, including a 5-on-3 opportunity for 23 seconds. After finding their footing, Gurianov rewarded the team's penalty kill efforts with a backhand goal through the right circle midway through the second.
Iiro Pakarinen snuck a wrap-around goal past Bow 90 seconds into the third, and the table was set for the Dries game-winner in overtime.
Travis Morin assisted on the Dries tally.
Texas finished 0-for-4 on the power play. Bakersfield went 0-for-6. Matt Mangene's five-game point streak ended in the win for the Stars.
