Texas Loans Cuglietta and Jago to Idaho Steelheads
Nov 5, 2019CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today that forward Diego Cuglietta and defenseman Tanner Jago have been loaned to the club’s ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
Cuglietta, 24, has registered two points (1-1=2) in eight AHL games with the Texas Stars this season. The center also recorded a goal in three games at the end of the 2018-19 season. His first pro goal was the game winner against the San Antonio Rampage on Apr. 12, 2019.
The 5-foot-10 native of Kamloops, British Columbia produced 41 points (25-16=41) in his senior season at Lake Superior State University and led the NCAA with 25 goals. In four seasons, he produced 100 points (50-50=100) and became the fourth skater in school history since 2000 to hit 100 career points.
Jago, 25, made his AHL debut on Saturday against the San Antonio Rampage. The rookie defenseman began the season with the Idaho Steelheads and played five ECHL games, recording two points (1-1=2), four PIMS and a +4 rating. His first pro goal capped off a 4-3 come-from-behind win for Idaho on Oct. 26, 2019, against the Allen Americans.
The 6-foot skater hails from Brandon, Manitoba and played four years at Bentley University from 2015 to 2019. He captained his alma mater as a senior and produced 86 points (19-67=86) in 151 career games. Jago ended his collegiate career with the second-most games played in school history and the fifth-most points by a defenseman.
The Stars return home to the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park this week to face off against the Colorado Eagles for the first time in franchise history. Puck drop is slated for Saturday, November 9, at 7:00 p.m.
