Stars Sign Defenseman Scott Valentine
Nov 19, 2014CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today they have signed defenseman Scott Valentine to a contract for the season.
Valentine, 23, has appeared in 192 career AHL games over the previous three years, all with the Milwaukee Admirals, where he skated alongside current Stars forward Kevin Henderson.
The 6-foot, 215-pound defenseman began the season with the Stars ECHL affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads, tallying six assists in 12 games. The Ottawa, Ontario native was a sixth-round draft pick of the Anaheim Ducks (166th overall) in the 2009 NHL draft.
Valentine competed for four years in the Ontario Hockey League prior to turning pro, appearing in 171 games.
The Stars host San Antonio on Friday at 7:30 p.m.
