Stars Loan Arcuri and Punnett to Steelheads

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today that forward Francesco Arcuri and defenseman Connor Punnett have been reassigned on loan to the ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads.

 

Arcuri, 21, has skated in four AHL games with Texas this season and heads back to Idaho where he has eight points (1-7=8) in 10 games with the Steelheads. The second-year pro played one game for the Stars last season, before skating in 64 ECHL games, where he logged 46 points (25-21=46) in Idaho.

 

The Toronto, Ontario native was selected by Dallas in the sixth round (175th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.

 

Punnett, 21, returns to Idaho where he has appeared in 42 games for the Steelheads. The rookie defenseman has 14 points (3-11=14) and 92 penalty minutes this season in Idaho and scored a goal and added an assist in his professional debut Oct. 18 against Utah.

 

The North Bay, Ontario native was originally undrafted and signed with Dallas as a free agent on March 6, 2024.

 

Texas wraps up a six-game homestand at the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park this weekend against the Chicago Wolves, with games Saturday at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Tickets are available at www.texasstars.com/tickets.
