Stars Collect Over One Ton of Food at Food Drive
Dec 11, 2014CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced today the team collected more than 2,000 pounds of food for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas during their annual H-E-B Food Drive last Wednesday, Dec. 3.
Texas Stars fans donated 2,042 pounds of food, which converts to 1,702 meals for local families this holiday season. Now in its fourth year, the Texas Stars and H-E-B have collected more than 7,000 pounds of food and over 6,000 meals for the Capital Area Food Bank of Texas.
While the Dec. 3 game was the official H-E-B Food Drive Night, the Stars also collect food throughout the season on their H-E-B Nights, which occur on every weekday game (Monday-Thursday). Fans can bring any H-E-B branded, non-perishable food item to the Cedar Park Center Box Office to save $5 off their ticket purchase. The next H-E-B Night with the Stars is Wednesday, Jan. 14 against the Rochester Americans.
