Smith, Ully Recalled from Idaho

CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Monday that forwards Gemel Smith and Cole Ully have been recalled from the team’s ECHL’s affiliate, the Idaho Steelheads.
Smith (jeh-MEHL SMITH), 21, has appeared in 20 AHL games this season with nine points overall, including six goals (6-3=9). The 5-foot-10, 200-pound native of Toronto, Ontario played four games for the Steelheads this year, and registered a goal and three assists. Smith was selected by Dallas in the fourth round (104th overall) of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
Ully (YEW-lee), 20, tallied six points in six games with Idaho during his ECHL stint on a goal and five assists (1-5=6). The 5-foot-11, 170-pound forward scored the overtime-winner in Idaho’s 3-2 win on Sunday over the Allen Americans. In 10 games this season with the Texas Stars, the Calgary, Alberta native has a goal and four assists. His first professional goal came on Oct. 16 against the Chicago Wolves. Ully was a fifth-round pick of Dallas (131st overall) in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft.
