Dallas Stars Acquire Cameron Gaunce from Colorado in Exchange for Tomas Vincour

CEDAR PARK, TX – The Texas Stars, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Dallas Stars, announced today that Dallas has acquired defenseman Cameron Gaunce (pronounced GAWNS) from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for forward Tomas Vincour and has assigned Gaunce to Texas.
Gaunce, 23, has skated the last three seasons for the Lake Erie Monsters, Colorado's development affiliate in the AHL. As a member of the Monsters, the 6-foot-1, 203-pound defenseman has posted 60 points (9G-51A), 272 penalty minutes and a plus-22 rating in 197 games, including 11 points (1G-10A) in 61 contests this season for the club. The native of Sudbury, Ont., has skated in 11 career NHL contests where he earned his first NHL goal on Feb. 16, 2011 against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Gaunce was Colorado's second-round selection (50th overall) in the 2008 NHL Draft.
Vincour, 22, has played 86 career NHL games, posting 15 points (7G-8A), including one goal and one assist in 15 contests this season. The 6-foot-2 forward from Brno, Czech Rep., was Dallas' fifth-round selection (129th overall) in the 2009 NHL Draft. Vincour appeared in 113 career AHL games over parts of three seasons (2010-2013) for Texas, recording 56 points (30 goals, 26 assists) and 38 penalty minutes. He also played in six Calder Cup playoff games for the Stars, tallying one assist and four penalty minutes.
The Texas Stars continue their three-game home stand on Friday April 5th against the Oklahoma City Barons for a 7:30 p.m. faceoff at Cedar Park Center.
