Texas Trims Training Camp Roster, Signs Karjalainen
CEDAR PARK, Texas – The Texas Stars, American Hockey League affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, announced Monday the team has reduced their training camp roster by two.

The Stars also signed rookie defenseman Miro Karjalainen to an AHL standard player contract.
Karjalainen (KAIR-uh-ligh-nehn), 20, was drafted in the fifth-round (135th overall) of the 2014 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars. The 6-foot-7, 225-pound native of Vihti, Finland spent the past two seasons competing in Finland’s top junior league. He has tallied a goal and six assists in 27 games over the past two seasons.
The Texas Stars are the primary development affiliate of the NHL’s Dallas Stars, and will begin their eighth season at H-E-B Center at Cedar Park in October.
